What If Only 100 People Lived on the Earth?
According to the US Census Bureau, there are about 6.799 billion people in the world (as of 24 November 2009).
What would the world look like if we shrink the world, so only 100 people lived?
A modern designer Toby NG summarised the world very neatly based on the world statistics.
I chose some of the more intriguing ones. You can go to his website and look at all 20 pictures he has made.
<Only 7% have computers>
<20% of people use 80% of the energy, whilst the 80% of people use 20%>
<Interesting...>
<1% of the world population have HIV>
<One in five people wake up thankful for being alive>
<14% CANNOT read (that is about one billion)>
<More than a BILLION people don't have clean water>
<15% are over-weight and 1% die from starvation>
<Only 1% with college education>
<Interesting... 10% are homo-sexuals>
<Almost a half have no freedom of speech>
<Again... INTERESTING>
<The continents are drawn in their respective population sizes>
